We love to travel, love adventure, and love a good steak. We love all cuts and we love it medium rare. Our love of meat — and in particular steak — has made us something like steak aficionados. We travel far and frequently and are always on the hunt for the best steak in town.
Lately, we have branched out to steak offshoots — beef carpaccio, beef tataki, and when there is no other steak around, steak tacos. We long mused about having a blog that chronicles the best, and worst, steak we encounter. This blog was four years in the making and we finally published our first review in 2016. Ten years later, we are still eating steak across the world — and I am still catching up on the reviews. You may notice gaps in posting and then many all at once. That's the nature of keeping a steak diary while traveling, managing three cross-country relocations and one from the US to Europe. For the latest, follow us on Instagram, where I post when life moves faster than I can write.
"2015 — A tiny bar in a remote area of Costa Rica. A steak with a mustard sauce that, remembering it years later, still makes my mouth water."
We have been to your run-of-the-mill steakhouses and places most tourists would never find. From a dimly lit Viennese wine bar serving Tafelspitz to a rooftop in Hong Kong overlooking the harbor, from a tiny beach bar in Montezuma Costa Rica to the Financial District in New York — every steak tells a story about the place it was served.
Whether you love steak or just love to hear about new places — welcome to our table.
Where We've Been
About Us
We have lived all over the United States — Washington State, Florida, Colorado, Georgia — before taking the leap and relocating to Málaga, Spain in 2022. Moving countries with dogs, a taste for adventure, and an obsession with finding the perfect steak has given us a very particular lens through which we see the world.
When we are not eating steak, we are writing about travel on our sister blog ReviewTrip.net — covering everything from cross-country road trips with three dogs to European rail journeys and life as expats in southern Spain.

From the Archives
A few destinations from our early steak diaries that haven't made it to a full post yet — but the steaks were memorable enough to earn a place here.
